Who, what, where?
Who
Me! I am Michaela and I created Little Pink Pigeon to have a place to share experiences, lessons, and wellness. I am writing about growth, exploration, and my tips and tricks on living your life with passion and authenticity!
I grew up in upstate New York and college brought me to NYC. That move initiated an instant love affair with the unknown. The boroughs of NY gave me something incomparable to anything I have yet to experience. The possibilities of the city awoke a spark in me. It was a place that constantly reminded me of my potential and allowed me to believe in my dreams. After a few years of school, working, and enjoying Brooklyn the pandemic struck. My once-beating city abruptly turned into a ghost town.
While 2020 was an emotional rollercoaster for many reasons it was also a year of immense growth. At the end of it, life felt like it was presenting me with a fork in the road. One sign pointed us back to Brooklyn, and the other pointed us into uncharted territory. My small family (myself, my partner, and our dog) bought a small motorhome, and after a small learning curve and putting most of our possessions into storage, we took off! We have been traveling full-time in our motorhome for over a year and have been fortunate to experience so much of America uniquely.
What
So what is Little Pink Pigeon? It is a safe space, that’s not centered around toxic positivity but focuses on experiences that we go through to bring us together. It is a spot for like-minded people who want the best for themselves and others. It is a blog and shop but most importantly a community, where growth, self-exploration, advocacy, wellness, and love are celebrated. Sharing is a great way to empathize with others and learn more about ourselves. We are all in this together but before we can be better for others we have to be better for ourselves. Focusing on our individual lives, and living them in a healthy way can make a major impact on us as a world.
Where
Little Pink Pigeon, or the idea of it at least, originated in Brooklyn. Brooklyn was the first place I began advocating for myself and seeing the difference. However, LPP is everywhere now! It is wherever I am and wherever you are.
After experiencing a year of being truly remote my relationship with the internet will never be the same. It was a window to the world when the world turned indoors. It has allowed us to reach across the world, and so I hope you take Pink Pig anywhere you find yourself.
