Did something just happen and now your good mood is suddenly gone? Want to take action and get it back? Of course, you do! It’s not always easy to get out of a funk but these easy steps can help you feel better 😊 Here are 5 easy ways to get over a bad mood!
1 Music
Sometimes putting your favorite playlist on with noise-canceling headphones can make a world of a difference to your mood. Music is one of those things we feel on many levels. We can connect to it emotionally, and physically. You ever hear something really beautiful and get the chills, or is that just me 🤔 Anyway, music is special! Try making a playlist specifically for when you’re feeling not happy and turn that ish up! (But not too loud while wearing headphones because you will want to be able to still hear those songs later in life 😅)

2 Walk
Preferably outside, (have any good parks around you?) but regardless of where… take a walk! Taking a walk when you’re feeling angry, frustrated, sad, or unsure can be the perfect antidote to getting you out of that funk. Pay attention to the environment, the sounds around you, and the ground you’re walking on. After 20/30 minutes you may feel your emotions shifting and your happy vibes coming back.
3 Breathe
Taking a handful of deep breaths can clear your head. Make sure to take deep breaths using your diaphragm, and feel it in your belly! (Tip: sit upright when doing this and place a hand on your chest and belly. You should be able to feel your stomach expanding on the in-breath. Many of us breathe with our chests, but by using our hands we can feel the difference) It can ease tension and allow your body to exchange some fresh oxygen for outgoing carbon dioxide.
4 Meditate
Meditation gives us a chance to hit a sort of mental “restart” button. It can allow us to feel grounded and have some clarity. If you’re new to meditation and looking for somewhere to start I’d encourage you to sign up for headspace! It is an app that can be used at any time of the day and has a wide range of content.
5 Journal
Sometimes you gotta just let it all out. Laying it out with pen and paper can feel therapeutic and emotionally satisfying. Writing is a great outlet for feeling overwhelmed, confused, frustrated, angry, and so much more. You don’t have to answer specific prompts or write impeccably, just write anything! If you’re in need of a new cute lightweight journal check out this one I created on Amazon!
